Description: Rare and beautiful Maori Wood and 9ct Gold Cigar Pipe carved tattooed faces with tiny paua shell eyes. The two gold bands are marked 9ct gold hallmarked G.P. (may be George Pretkethly - NZ Jeweller and Goldsmith). Also marked Christeson, who was a Wellington tobacconist. The carver is probably Tom Heberley according to the Auckland Museum. Length 13 cm
