Sir Walter Buller 'A History of the Birds of Nz' 2nd Edition 1888, Volumes I & II, together with Volumes I & II of 'Supplement to the 'Birds of Nz' by Sir Walter Buller 1905. All four books are in a red binding with Volume I containing a hand written letter by Sir Walter Buller to a 'Sir Richard' discussing pricing for the book, subscription lists and noting the special red Morocco binding. Letter dated August 4, 1888.

An Historic Wwi Period Diary (in a Notebook) kept by 58079 Pte John Joseph O'Connell, who was a window dresser from Ponsonby, who embarked with the 31st Reinforcements (Auckland Infantry) on 16 November 1917. The diary covers his service with the 15th Coy, 1st Bn Nzef documenting the march of Nz troops from France through Belgium and to Germany. O'Connell was one of the few members of the Nzef involved in service as part of the occupation force and so such a record is very rare.…

Photos of Thomas Daniel Knox, 6th Earl of Ranfurly. These were taken on his way to Australia in 1937 en route to his appointment as ADC to Lord Gowrie, Governor General of Australia 1936-1945. His grandfather, the 5th Earl of Ranfurly, was Governor General of New Zealand 1897-1904. Includes also 2 photos of Guide Rangi (Rangitiaria Dennan 1897-1970).
